What We Collect
When you subscribe to Aloud or contact us, we collect the following information:
- Your name — to address you personally and coordinate your subscription
- Your child's first name and age — to curate age-appropriate books
- Your delivery address — to deliver and collect books from your door
- Your WhatsApp number — our primary channel for all service communication
- Payment information — processed securely via our payment partner. Aloud does not store card numbers or payment details on its own systems.
Why We Collect It
We use the information we collect solely to provide the Aloud service. Specifically:
- To curate age-appropriate books for your child each month
- To coordinate monthly delivery and return pickups to your address
- To send subscription and delivery updates over WhatsApp
- To provide customer support when you reach out to us
- To process payments securely through our payment gateway partner
We do not use your information for any purpose beyond delivering the Aloud service.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. Ever.
Your data is used only to run the Aloud subscription service. It is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for commercial purposes.
WhatsApp Communication
By providing your WhatsApp number and subscribing to Aloud, you agree to receive subscription-related messages from us. These include delivery confirmations, return scheduling messages, book recommendations, and customer support responses.
You can opt out of WhatsApp messages at any time by sending "STOP" to +91 91723 65155. Please note that opting out will make it difficult for us to coordinate your monthly deliveries and returns.
Children's Data
Aloud collects only your child's first name and age. This information is used solely to select age-appropriate books for your child's monthly set.
Your child's information is never shared externally — not with our courier partner, not with our payment gateway, and not with any other third party.
Third Parties
Aloud works with two categories of third-party partners in the course of delivering the service:
- Payment gateway — processes your payment securely. Their own privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled on their systems. Aloud does not receive or store your full card or bank details.
- Courier partner — receives only your name and delivery address, solely for the purpose of completing book delivery and return pickup. No other personal information is shared with the courier.
Beyond these two operational partners, Aloud does not share your data with any third party.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and accounting purposes.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@getaloud.in. We will process your request within 7 business days. Please note that some information may need to be retained for legal or financial compliance reasons.
